Hello, I'm Pamela, and I'm a caffeine addict. BIG TIME. Caffeine in coffee, caffeine in tea...sometimes (okay, a lot) I'll take an excedrin...yep, caffeine. Daily amounts of the addicting substance. The other day I had a not-so-brilliant idea to quit the stuff. I mean, all this caffeine cannot be good for ya in the long term. The stuff rots your bones! Plus, when I found out I was pregnant I just stopped cold turkey. It wasn't too bad. I figured all the pounding headaches and chills were due to the first trimester. Um. No. Once I had Audrey, back on it hardcore.
First off, I would like to apologize to all the people I was around yesterday at work, the day I decided to not have any caffeine...I was a raging biotch! I sat in my pod, dreaming about caffeine. My head never hurt worse. My body ached. I felt irritated. Now I feel weak as a person as I sit here and drink my daily pot of good tarry black stuff....MMMM..Okay, I dont feel so bad anymore. I'll never stop. Its a pretty intense addiction. Guess I'll just have to take extra calcium and Vit D to rid myself of osteoporosis. Thats my solution.
Caffeine tolerance develops very quickly, especially among heavy coffee and energy drink consumers. Caffeine withdrawal cause the blood vessels of the head to dilate, leading to an excess of blood in the head and causing a headache and nausea. Reduced catecholamine activity may cause feelings of fatigue and drowsiness. A reduction in serotonin levels when caffeine use is stopped can cause anxiety, irritability, inability to concentrate, and diminished motivation to initiate or to complete daily tasks; in extreme cases it may cause mild depression. Together, these effects have come to be known as a "crash".
Withdrawal symptoms — possibly including headache, irritability, an inability to concentrate, drowsiness, insomnia and pain in the stomach, upper body, and joints[99] — may appear within 12 to 24 hours after discontinuation of caffeine intake, peak at roughly 48 hours, and usually last from one to five days, representing the time required for the number of adenosine receptors in the brain to revert to "normal" levels, uninfluenced by caffeine consumption. Analgesics, such as aspirin, may relieve the pain symptoms, as may a small dose of caffeine
Holy shiz balls! Caffeine is a serious addiction! (okay, not as serious as heroin or alcohol...or meth or nicotine...but you get what I'm sayin)
Audrey was very very ill last Monday. She required a trip to Primary's with a temp of 105 and severe dehydration. Little peanut butter got better and so on Friday night we had a Mommy and me pedicure night!
Hey mommy! Can I have some french braids and a pedicure?
Some fine looking braids...
And some fine looking blue toes...She picked the blue out of all the colors...I encourage individuality in this household :)
This was after a fun bath of course, complete with her new bath toys she recieved from Santa Mom...
I wish I could blog about all of my snowshoeing experiences. They are pretty bad ass and very very beautiful. I have quite the posse that I go along with as well. We went to Snowbasin last week. It was a blizzard! I was hoping Audrey would sleep on the drive up there...but she was too excited so by the time we got to the spot she was pretty fussy.
The group
So, after listening to Audrey screaming in my ear for eternity, I decided she wasn't having it that day (and neither was I) so we stopped in the lodge for a beer. Look at the little kid eyein my beer...
I haven't seen A Christmas Story, but everytime I take miss Audrey Jade out snowshoeing she gets compared to this Randy character...so I had to look it up...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.....I think I peed my pants a lil when I saw that picture.....It reminded me of a picture I have of myself in my snowsuit as a young child...
The best part of my snow suit was my really fashionable blue cap. Thanks mom!
Wanna see some awesomely awesome cute pictures? Okay! Here they are!
Here is another picture that deserves a freakin frame. She loves her mama...
Audrey still loves to brush her teeth. She has about 5 different toothbrushes and she is learning how to actually brush them well. I'm so proud
Audrey loves to hit me in the face. I promptly tell her no..she likes to laugh at my 'no'.
I give you extra mama kuddos on those braids!! That is hard to do with wiggly lil' bodies and baby fine hair!
ReplyDeleteYour body has got to be rock hard for how active you are WITH your little snow angel on your back! I am soooo guilty of doing just the opposite!! Once we move into our house FINALLY (this weekend), Im putting foot to ass and kicking my butt in gear this year! haha
You and lil' Audrey are so cute! I love that last picture of you two :)

ReplyDeleteI love your blogs! Makes me want a girl! haha!
ReplyDeleteThese are great pics and you should frame all of them! I envy your snow adventures more than I can say !Logan loves his toothbrush too. Isn't it funny that they enjoy them so much!
I CANNOT believe you've never seen A Christmas Story... that is a must watch my friend!
ps - prior to Logan I was a 1 cup a day Dunkin Donuts coffee drinker. I am now an avid Starbucks addict. It's horrible! I wake up and go get Starbucks, I break for lunch and want to go get Starbucks, I head home and stop at Starbucks. I get home and want to make Starbucks at home. It's completely evil stuff.. EVIL I tell you!
ReplyDeleteOMG! That is so funny I almost peed my pants when I saw your blue snow suit and hat! At least it matched. I so enjoy your blogs. Thanks for doin' them. You da best. Momma
