Twas the day before Christmas...

Ho! Ho! Ho! I have 10 days off in a row! ...I can't believe its almost 2011. I know for a fact that 2011 is going to be better than 2010..bring on the new year! We have lots planned for this time off, lots of family, friends, snowshoe and Monday I will snowboard for the first time this season..wish me luck!
The other day Audrey asked if she could have some cornrows to look like K-Fed. I gave in. I give in pretty easily to most of her requests, especially if it has to do with hair styles...

The weather here has been pretty wet and gloomy. We went shoeing yesterday and the snow was very heavy. Didn't stop me though. Avelanche danger has also been very high. Don't worry. I'm being smart about it. I know where to go and if I call this number
1-888-999-4019 I can get all the info on avelanche danger for the day in the spot that we are going.

This picture was taken off my cell phone yesterday. We went to Green Basin in the Spruces up Big Cottonwood. Its so breathtaking.

Audrey has upgraded to wearing TWO snowsuits. She also has two layers on underneath, a scarf, mittens and some groovy baby goggles if she needs them. I always remind her while I am dressing her that she will thank me later.
Wanna see the goggles?

Pretty stylin if I do say so myself...

..We actually go snowshoeing about 3 times a week. I don't get pictures from every snowshoe because the 'ex' got the point and shoot camera.  Its hard to drag along my Canon Rebel that was more expensive than my first vehicle I ever drove (yes, the Buick)We take different friends almost every time we go and each hike is so different and beautiful that I felt that I was missing out on taking some awesome pics. That being said...

Wanna see something sweet?!

This is my new point and shoot camera! Its an Olympus Stylus Tough 6020. It has 14 megapixels and it hit all of my requirements for what I needed it for...its breakproof, waterproof, heatproof and coldproof. It literally goes underwater 16ft so I can take some awesome shots this summer of Audrey swimming...and it's totally cool if I drop it in the snow! I can take it on hikes in the summer and it wont melt! I'm so stoked about it and the pictures that I can get I almost peed my pants just thinking about it. I wont even worry about it being dropped or anything.

I did take my camera on an awesome snowshoe last week with some of my friends and I would LOVE to show these pics...
The group shot! We went up to Guardsmens, then cut through the trees up about Scotts Pass...then to a peak. This was pretty intense of a snowshoe. 1600foot elevation gain in 1.3miles. It took us 4 hours to go 3 miles total. Shit balls. That basically translates to tough as hell and straight up
It was a perfect day to shoe. It was not cold, it was pretty soft and powdery and the sun wasn't out so no burns or slush
I needed to pee. It seems like it would be easy to find a place to go. But I struggled a bit. I also had the honor of breaking trail going up. Lucky me!
 Through the trees we go
Totally worth the bum burn...

Dr. Pete Crossnob passed out at the top but we successfully resuscitated him..
Pretty sure I will be doing this one again soon!

So, Audrey and I haven't watched TV in four months. I decided a while ago that I didn't watch it too much anyways and I didn't want to have to pay for it each month. I usually just had it on for noise. I thought I could watch movies whenever I felt the urge. Well, the urge never came and I packed away the TV for good. And guess what? I don't miss it a bit!

Haha, I googled 'family infront of TV' and this is the picture that popped up. Awesome.

We get so much done. We play outside all day long, listen to all kinds of music, read books, do crafts, go play with friends and take pictures. Its not that I'm against watching TV...I just decided that I am going to raise Audrey without it. Shit, she watches enough when she is at her daddys.
There are a few disadvantages to not having TV. I dont pay attention to the weather. I could easily look it up online, but I used to watch the news. Now, I run late to work because I didn't know it was going to snow and my car is stuck and I didn't park it in the garage. I'm also not current on sports or politics. Not that I care. I got on KSL the other day and was super depressed just listening to all the latest child molestors, druggies and murderers. This world is nasty. I see enough crap at work. I don't need fill my head with that garbage and I don't need Audrey hearing it too.

On the flip side. Audrey is my little Cheeserface.
Here she is climbing on her new potty Santa Clause got her. The potty training will begin December 26th! Audrey is so damn hyper. She is the happiest, sweetest little thing. She is so excited about life, she loves everyone around her and she makes strangers smile. This cute little old man, he had to have been 85, came up to me at the store and gave me $1 and said to put it in her piggy bank because she was so cute to him. It was the sweetest thing.
At 14 months old, this is Audrey
  • She loves to give kisses. To anything. Her dolls, books, mommy..She even makes the kissy noise
  • She loves to scream and squeal and be the center of attention. She tells everyone that walks by, 'HI!'
